Derek Forbort has been having a difficult season on the ice but last week his issues followed him off of the ice. Forbort was a healthy scratch for breaking team rules.
It was announced that Forbort missed a team meeting because he slept in by accident, which is an accident a veteran player cannot be making.
"#Bruins defensman Derek Forbort overslept in Seattle. "It's on me," he said. His first call was from Jake DeBrusk (who missed a meeting earlier this season in LA) with the message "you'll get through this," Forbort said with a smile following Thursday's morning skate."
Due to his play this year, plus now these issues off the ice, insider Jimmy Murphy believes it is almost a guarantee Forbort will be dealt before the deadline next Friday.
Given his recent play and now this, I wouldn't be surprised to see Forbort on a new team by the March 8, 3 p.m. ET NHL Trade Deadline
The Bruins will need to make some big moves at the deadline if they want to strengthen their blueline and moving Forbort seems to be part of the plan.
