Boston Bruins forwards Morgan Geekie and Trent Frederic made good use of their day off on Monday by taking the time to teach the game of hockey to local children at the Salvation Army Kroc Center in Dorchester.

When players are willing to participate in events like this, it not only gives the children in attendance a chance to learn about a sport from a professional and create memories that they may never forget, but it also gives the youths an opportunity to get involved in positive recreational activities during their free time that can help build physical and social skills at a young age. Geekie and Frederic getting involved in the community could also encourage others to follow their lead, which ultimately builds a better environment for everyone in the Boston area.
