After the first big wave of free agent frenzy is over, and there are still many players left to be signed. and the most hated player in the league is looking for a new home.
The Bruins have expressed interest in going after the player deemed "the most hated in the NHL". He was in an out of the Panthers lineup on their Stanley Cup winning run, but it seems that his time is up in Florida.
Cousins would fit perfectly to bolster the depth of the bottom 6 forwards on the B's and adds much needed grit and toughness that they have been lacking. He is considered a "rat" in the league and is not shy to welcome controversy in order try and throw opponents off their game.
Nick Bieksa has some strong words for Nick Cousins based on his style of play.
"What people don't wanna watch and see is kneeing, hitting a guys head into the boards, ramming a guy from behind and that is a common theme for [Nick Cousins]," said Bieksa back in January. "I have never done this before but I have to do it, because this is a trend with this player."
"There's no place in the game for this and what is the common theme in all of these? Him at the bottom of the pile in a turtle position," said Bieksa with disgust. "This has been a common theme with this player... somebody in that organization or somebody that he respects has to sit down and say 'Enough of this' or the NHL has to come down and hammer this guy.", "Somebody has to hammer this guy from the department of justice and put an end to these crappy hits because I hate em and that's a rat to me," said Bieksa. "I'm sorry it is."
He is a player that you hate to play against but would also love to have on your team, kind of reminds you of someone else on the Bruins...
