The NHL draft lottery is now only 32 days away and it is becoming more apparent that big changes are heading toward every team in the NHL including, and more obviously, for the Boston Bruins as more and more trade talk continues to surface.

Rumors have been spreading about Linus Ullmark and as the draft lottery nears, it has been getting harder to conceal the facts about these rumors. Boston Bruins' general manager, Don Sweeney told reporters when questioned:

" We're going to explore opportunities, My phone's going to ring. I'm going to make calls. That's just what the job requires and at times, unfortunately, things start to leak out and that's your job. You guys do a hell of a job of figuring those things out, piecing them together. " - Don Sweeney

The statement made by Sweeney indicates that the Bruins are in fact looking to trade Ullmark and that Sweeney is open to talking about any trade deal that may in fact be made by other teams interested. Sweeney certainly seems confident that teams will no doubt reach out to him at some point this summer and he will be ready when that time comes.

Among the teams who are interested are The Los Angeles Kings, New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators, Edmonton Oilers and Detroit Red Wings. It is a fact that Ullmark is among one of the best goalies in the league so it comes as no surprise that these teams would be interested in making a trade deal for him.

" Really good goaltending is hard to come by nowadays, Linus Ullmark won the Vezina Trophy last year and could be a number one starter for any team. He has one year left of his deal at $5 million which is a steal for any contending team, there are definitely going to be a lot of calls for Ullmark this off-season and Don Sweeney will do what is best for the Bruins heading forward.. " - Austin Sabourin

It is clear that the Bruins are looking to start the upcoming season on a different page and while this includes saying goodbye to Ullmark, it means more opportunities for the Bruins moving forward to work on building a stronger team going into the 2024-2025 season.
