Some people around the league, especially head coaches, will say they don't believe in statement wins. If there was ever a win that defined Statement Win, it was The Bruins 4-0 domination of the Vancouver Canucks.
In goal, was not Bruins All Star goalie, Jeremy Swayman, but last year's Vezina winner Linus Ullmark, who has seemed to fall into the background a little bit with the amazing season Swayman has put together, even though they are still on a goalie rotation.
Ullmark stopped 17 shots to record his first shutout of the season against arguably the best team in the league. The Canucks already had the best record in the NHL (Shared with Bruins) when they acquire top trade deadline target Elias Lindholm. The Bruins right now look like geniuses while beating the team Lindholm went to, and while holding him scoreless and a -4 rating.
Ullmark put the NHL on notice by shutting out the best team in the league, that he is still the phenom that won the Vezina last year. Bruins fans have become accustomed to this type of goalie play all year; the NHL has been put on notice.
