Yesterday the Bruins General Manager, Don Sweeney, announced that the organization would be making roster move to call up forward Anthony Richard from the Providence Bruins to join the NHL club. Richard met with the media in the locker room today to discuss his debut, expected to take place this Saturday against the Washington Capitals.
Richard also made it clear that he is fully confident in his ability to play a complete two-way game as he makes just his 16th appearance in a NHL game. After playing in only 2 games for the Nashville Predators from 2018-2020, Richard played in 13 games for the Montreal Canadiens last season.
Richard is expected to play on the fourth line in his debut on Saturday, but did play some significant time on the penalty kill this season for Providence, so it will be interesting to see how big a role he will play in the game this weekend. Only time will tell what kind of impact Richard will have as the Bruins season enters the stretch run!
