NHL insider confirms the worst: "Bruins and Swayman aren't close to a deal"
According to the well respected NHL insider and analyst for Sportsnet Elliote Friedman, the Boston Bruins and Jeremy Swayman are no where close to a deal.
Fans have been told over and over again not worry about the lack of developments with Swayman, but with the news that's been revealed by Friedman today, now is probably the time to panic.
Friedman appeared on the '32 Thoughts Podcast" to discuss on going contract negotiations with players around the league and one name in particular had fans ears perked up. He stated that the Boston Bruins and Jeremey Swayman are not close to a deal at all.
Last offseason, Sway and the Bruins went to arbitration where he was awarded a 1-year, $3.475 million dollar deal. They decided mutually that arbitration was not going to be an option again so both parties have decided to negotiate though out the summer, but it seems they are at a stalemate.
Swayman is looking for a max-length deal in the ball park of $8 Million AAV, the only question that fans have are how far off are both sides that a deal isn't getting done?
