As the Stanley Cup Playoffs are about to conclude, we look back at this time 14 years ago when the Boston Bruins made a big trade with the Florida Panthers that brought in Nathan Horton and Greg Campbell.
On this day in 2010, the @NHLBruins acquired Nathan Horton and Gregory Campbell from Florida for Dennis Wideman, a 2010 first-round pick (Derek Forbort), and a 2011 third-round pick (Kyle Rau) #Bruins365 #NHLBruins
What the Bruins didn't know at the time is that these two players were going to be monumental pieces to their Stanley Cup victory in 2011.
Horton scored 8 goals with 9 assists for 17 points and was a + 11 with 35 penalty minutes. Campbell had that memorable shift where he blocked consecutive shots and broke his leg but still decided to stay out there and put his body on the line.
