One name in particular that is expected to make waves at Bruins training camp is 22 year old center, Riley Duran. Duran was drafted by the Bruins in the 6th round of the 2022 NHL amateur draft, standing at 6'2 185 lbs, he impressed with the limited time he has with the Providence Bruins of the AHL.
The youngster scored just 2 goals and 2 assists in 11 games which sounds unimpressive, but with his limited ice time and quick jump from Providence College, he competed at a level that shocked many scouts.
Another young prospect Matthew Poitras had some high praise for his fellow future teammate.
Duran has been touted as a true 2-way forward, which the Bruins have had a history of loving. His high defensive IQ and physical play has given many the idea that he can crack the opening night roster as a part of the Bottom 6 forward group, he can eat up ice time and contribute on the penalty kill.
Do you think he has a shot at cracking the Bruins opening night roster?
