The Blues and Penguins agree to bizarre trade

The Penguins announced this morning that they have agreed to a bizarre trade with the Blues.

Pittsburgh is sending a 2026 2nd round pick and 2025 3rd rounder to St Louis in exchange for a 2025 2nd round pick and 2026 5th round pick.

While on paper this seems like a fair trade since the Penguins are looking to basically swap their 2026 2nd round pick for another one next season.

The strange part is the draft just happened over a month ago and with the season closing in, fans are wondering why this is the focus right now when there seems to be more pressing matters for the Penguins like signing Crosby.
