The Bruins are the most talked about team at the deadline, basically being linked to every available player, both high end and bargain shopping. Fans always love to imagine their team going out and getting the best player on the market to boost their team to the Finals. However, we live in a salary cap world, and it's a world that the Bruins don't have much to work with in terms of a trade deadline deal.
The Bruins have just under a million in available salary cap, and don't have any draft picks for the first three rounds this year. They will need to get creative when it comes to trading for high priced targets (enter Jake DeBrusk) or keep to the bargain shopping. Here are three guys the Bruins could afford at the deadline:
Vladmir Tarasenko- Tarasenko would bring a veteran presence that still has scoring touch, his recent injury could be a concern however he would come cheap enough to where the Bruins could definitely make it work and could immediately use his scoring touch in the top 6. He has 14 goals and 34 points in 46 games played this year.
Anthony Duclair- He has been mentioned before in trade talks with the Bruins, and many fans want to see this trade happen. Duclair stats don't jump off the page, which is why the Bruins could afford him, but his mixture of speed and scoring ability would inject this Bruins line up with a surge of energy. On a very bad San Jose Team Duclair has 9 goals and 17 points hits season in 46 games.
David Perron- Perron, currently with the Detroit Red Wings, is available for trade and he would also bring veteran scoring experience at low cost. The 17-year veteran has 10 goals and 24 points in 45 games this year and is looking to end his long career with a Stanley Cup run.
