The Tampa Bay Lighting have had quite the busy offseason seeing their longtime Captain, Steven Stamkos sign with the Nashville Predators. With him gone, they are looking to sign former Boston Bruin, James van Riemsdyk in attempts to bolster their lineup.

Most of the top UFA's have now found their new homes, but there still leaves some big talent on table, the Lighting have reached out and expressed big interest in signing former Boston bruin James Van Riemsdyk.

In 71 games last season with the Boston Bruins, the 35-yar-old posted 11 goals and 27 assists for 38 points, he also had a +/- rating of +7.

With the Bruins not showing any interest to sign the forward, he would be a solid signing to fill some holes on the Lighting's 3rd line and penalty kill.

Do you think the Bruins should have attempted to re-sign James Van Riemsdyk?
