The Bruins former veteran Kevin Shattenkirk seems to be in a tough spot this off-season as he is still without a job.
While Shattenkirk is definitely at the end of his career, he still could be a solid 6th or 7th defenseman for a team in the process of a rebuild. Shattenkirk could be used in multiple different situations and could also help young players get used to the NHL way of playing.
It's somewhat surprising that he still doesn't have a job as he is the perfect player for a contending team to bring in a seventh defenseman who can play in multiple situations throughout the season. A team rebuilding would be wise to give him a look as he could work well with a young defenseman. It would be surprising if he isn't in a training camp in a couple of weeks. - Roche
Shattenkirk was able to put up 24 points in 61 games this season for the Bruins and was a reliable options on their second powerplay.
