Bruins forward Oskar Steen was placed on waivers Sunday after practicing with the team as part of the fourth line. Steen had been near the bottom of the roster recently and was even a healthy scratch at times before the move was made this weekend.
Steen cleared waivers today, which means he will be returning to Providence to play in the AHL and develop a bit more as a player, especially when it comes to offensive production.
In 34 games for Boston this year, he has scored just a single point which came via a goal in November shortly after being called up.
It's unclear what the long term future holds for Steen, but for now he will be staying put with the Bruins organization.
