At last years NHL trade deadline, the Boston Bruins elected to made a deal for Columbus Blue Jackets defensemen Andrew Peeke, with their limited cap space, they did not have many options. But they were able trade prospect Jakub Zboril for the 6'3 d-man.
With the Bruins having a super strong defensive core this season, and probably being the most solid aspect of the team, what expectations to the Bruins have for Peeke who will be playing and competing for a spot on the 3rd pairing.
To be realistic, Peeke will most probably make the roster to start the season, but with the amount of prospects on the blue line, the internal coemption will be good for him to try and step up his game.
While Peeke is no magician offensively, he plays his role and limits mistakes, he'll probably average around 17 minutes of ice time a game and play against the bottom 2-lines against most of the teams the Bruins face.
In 28 games between the Blue Jackets and Bruins, he scored 1 goal and 9 assists for 10 points and achieved a +/- rating of -1.
