NHL insiders have broke the news that long time Washington Capital and current Corolina Hurricane, Evgeny Kuznetsov will be heading back to Russia to play in the KHL.

I'm hearing that Evgeny Kuznetsov will not be with Carolina next season, word is he will be going to play in the KHL. 🌀

The Canes announced that they are preparing to terminate his contract and place him on unconditional waivers so he can return home to the KHL.

#causechaos is going to place Evgeny Kuznetsov on unconditional waivers for the purpose of a buyout and contract termination 🧐🧐🧐

per insider Artur Khairullin (@Artur_Khairul)

He is reported to sign a 4-year deal with SKA St. Petersburg.

According to "Championat", forward Evgeny Kuznetsov will return to Russia and sign a contract with SKA. The term of the agreement is 4 years.

Kuznetsoz has played in 743 games in the NHL and was a major piece when he won the Stanley Cup with the Washington Capitals in 2018. He accumulated 173 goals and 402 assists over his tenure.

Last season he was traded to the Hurricanes where he scored 8 goals and 16 assists for 24 points in 63 games.

He surely will be missed in the NHL.
