Faber scored 8 goals goals along with 39 assists for a total of 47 points in 84 games for the Wild. GM Bill Guerin signed the kid to a 8-year, $8.5 Million AAV contract. He was also a finalist for the Calder Trophy last season but was beat out by Connor Bedard.
The kid has been coined to be a superstar in the coming years which will make this contract look really good for the Wild if he pans out, but it is a lot risk for a player who has only played 1 season in the NHL and is not even a point per game player.
He is a 100% a fan favorite for the Minnesota fanbase but there has been some mixed reactions of the amount he was given. Only time will tell if this becomes a really good contract or a really bad one.
