There has been a lot of trade talk surrounding Jake Guentzel this year since the superstar's contract is up at the end of the season and he is supposedly looking for a max deal which the Penguins cannot afford.
Insider Darren Dreger announced today that the Penguins will be trading Guentzel in the next 24-36 hours. It was added that the Penguins are looking to get a first rounder, current young NHL player and young prospects in return.
"Sources say the Penguins are hoping to have a trade in place for Jake Guentzel by tomorrow evening. Pittsburgh is open to quality over quantity in return, but would like a 1st, young NHL player, plus prospects. Flexibility comes in the calibre of prospect or roster player. "
Guentzel has been having another fantastic season with 52 points in 50 games. Wherever he lands, he will be an incredible addition, especially come playoff time.
