Amidst all the trade rumors surrounding Toronto Maple Leafs star forward, Mitch Marner, it appears that he will be suiting up for the team this upcoming season.

NHL insider Chris Johnston has reported that the Maple Leafs made a strong effort to land former 40-goal scorer, Jeff Skinner in this years Free Agency Frenzy. They offered him the chance to play with some of the game's best in Austin Matthews and Mitch Marner, but he ultimately chose to go to the Oilers.

Chris Johnston on TCJS says Leafs talked to Jeff Skinner, pitched him on the idea of playing next to Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner, ultimately he chose Edmonton.

By offering this to Skinner, it implies that the Mitch Marner will most probably stay a Toronto Maple Leaf for the upcoming season amidst rumors of them team wanting to trade the 27-year-old.
