Today a photo was released of new Capitals goalie Logan Thompson practicing for the first time since being traded from the Vegas Golden Knights, but many people are feeling his goalie pad design are in bad taste.

In my personal opinion, the pads are just playing off the logo and design of the Capitals, but many are saying that it resembles very closely to the controversial Confederate Flag.

Fans took to social media to express their opinion and disgust with the design that it is representing a part of the USA's history that should not be celebrated.

But as stated earlier, to compare it to the confederate flag is a massive stretch and feels like a ploy to get offended and worked up about something that holds no bad intention. In the state of cancel culture we live in, it was nice to actually see some fans coming to his defense and state that his pads have nothing to do with racism or the flag people are suggesting.

Do you think the pads resemble the confederate flag?
