The Philadelphia Flyers will be without their goaltender Carter Hart for the next few weeks at his request.
In a statement released on Tuesday, General Manager Daniel Brière announced that Hart has asked for an indefinite leave of absence from the team.
Per Philadelphia Flyers General Manager, Daniel Briere: "Carter Hart has requested and been granted an indefinite leave of absence citing personal reasons. The club will have no further comment at this time."
25-year-old Hart has appeared in 26 games this season, achieving 12 wins, with a save percentage of 90.6% and a goals-against average of 2.80. It is expected that Swedish goaltender Samuel Ersson will take over the net during Hart's absence.
A second-round pick by the Flyers in 2016 (48th overall), Hart has played in 227 games since joining the NHL in the 2018-2019 season.
