The Boston Bruins offseason is set to begin and there will be plenty of free agents. It appears that Vancouver Canucks defenseman Ian Cole will test free agency. Cole won back-to-back Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 and 2017.

"It looks like he is going to hit the free agent market after some contract talks that couldn't find common ground.."

It appears the Canucks and Cole could not agree to a contract, and he will now test free agency and he will be a coveted free agent as several teams will look for defensive depth.

Bruins general manager Don Sweeney could add Ian Cole this offseason and he would instantly improve the penalty kill and he would be a great replacement for Matt Grzelcyk. This past season, Cole made $3 million, and he can play both left and right defense. This past season, Cole played in 78 games and scored 2 goals, nine assist and had a plus 10 on ice rating.
