There has been a lot of speculation and rumors swirling around if Ron MacLean will be back as the host of Hockey Night in Canada after a big surge of layoff's at Sportsnet.

While NOT connected AT ALL it appears that Jeff Marek's exit from Rogers SN could have come just ahead of what sounds like another round of "changes"/cuts/layoffs for the media company.

All the speculation began when Jeff Marek was let go by the network after some unethical behavior was being conducted at this years NHL Draft, but he wasn't the only one that lost his job with Sportsnet.

According to Jonah Sigel of YYZ Sports Media, there are more potential job cuts being conducted at Sportsnet, which has sent many fans wondering if Ron MacLean could be one of them.

Why make that change before the NHL Rogers deal is up in two years?

MacLean has spent the near last 40 years working with the Network and being apart of HNIC and the coaches corners with now retired, Don Cherry. Many fans were upset about how MacLean handled the layoff of Cherry saying that he threw his long time co-host and friend under the bus after some questionable comments were made.

The question remains, do you think Sportsnet will layoff Ron MacLean?
