Rookie Matt Rempe made a name for himself in his NHL debut earlier this year, as literally one second into his debut he fought New York Islander Matt Martin. Now this rookie may be in hot water, for a dangerous hit on New Jersey Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler.

5 minutes for elbowing and a game misconduct for Matt Rempe.

As you can see in the video, it appears to be a head blow with Matt Rempe's elbow. Earlier this month we saw Calgary's Martin Pospisil get suspended three games for an illegal hit, so it appears that NHL player safety wants to take these hits seriously and take them out of the game. With a dangerous hit like this, the question will be how many games will he be suspended (not if he will be)?
