During tonight's much anticipated game, Leafs player Mitch Marner proved his dedication to securing the victory. Already a major presence on the ice, from the very first period Marner stopped at nothing the make sure the Leafs showed the Bruins no mercy.
While struggling for puck control behind enemy lines, Marner did what he could to get the puck free. With adrenaline rushing through him, Boston Player Brandon Carlo might have unintentionally raised his stick, seemingly making contact with Mitch Marner. Taking advantage of the situation, Marner clearly put on some theatrics to get the nearby referees' attention, diving straight into the ice.
Both fans and players who witnessed this act of exaggeration have expressed their disagreement of how Marner handled the situation just to get the upper-hand. Although things seemed to be getting rough, the Bruins ended the first period with a 2-0 lead, ultimately bringing home the victory 3-1.
