Late on Sunday, breaking news circulated regarding the relocation of highly coveted restricted free agent Alex DeBrincat, following a tweet by Elliotte Friedman.

Ever since the NHL Trade Deadline, the name of Alex DeBrincat has been intertwined with trade discussions, speculations, and online platforms. The 25-year-old forward was linked to three teams, and ultimately, the Detroit Red Wings emerged as the successful suitor for his services. In a trade-and-sign maneuver, GM Steve Yzerman orchestrated DeBrincat's move to Detroit, securing him with a four-year extension carrying an average annual value (AAV) of $7,875,000.

Standing at 5'8" and weighing 176 pounds, the right winger has amassed an impressive record of 450 NHL appearances, amassing 373 goals, 187 assists, and 373 points while representing two different teams. DeBrincat embarked on his NHL journey with the Chicago Blackhawks, spending five seasons with the franchise before being traded to the Ottawa Senators, where he played a single season.

Now, at 25 years old, DeBrincat seeks a fresh start as he dons the colors of Detroit.
