One name that has been prominent has been Noah Hanifan of the Calgary Flames. He has given his preferred destination and wants to move back to the United States.
Another name that has emerged is St Louis Blues defenseman Colton Parayko. Former general manager Peter Chiarelli who now is a senior advisor to Doug Armstrong has been cited at three straight Bruins games.
As the deadline nears, a player of Parayko's caliber is going to get many teams calling Armstrong seeing what the cost would be to acquire him. Standing at 6'6» and 228 lbs the 30-year-old defenceman was drafted in 2012 by the Blues, in the third round, 86th overall.
As Jeremy Roenick stated, he is a force in his own end and gives sound defensive play and is a great shutdown defenseman. If Hanifan is no longer in play for the Bruins, Parayko is exactly what the Bruins need for a long cup run.
The Bruins continue to monitor both Hampus Lindholm and Matt Grzelcyk and hope for a quick return. However, Sweeney may need to have more discussions and potentially pry Parayko from the Blues.
