San Jose Sharks Make Last Minute Deal Trading Tomas Hertl

The Vegas Golden Knights are officially welcoming Tomas Hertl to the team, acquired from the San Jose Sharks, pending a trade call. This deal went down during the final minutes of the trade deadline.

It has been suggested that Hertl's trade has been being talked about among the two teams for a couple of days now. As Hertl is in his second year of a $65m, 8-year contract, he also has a no-move clause. This caused Hertl to be in control of approving the deal or not. Hertl is believed to have hopes of changing teams in order to develop and grow as a player. Although he is currenty on Injured Reserve, Hertl is expected to come back this season.

After 48 games played this season, Tomas Hertl has 15 goals and 19 assists, making a total of 34 points. He has taken the reigns of injured Logan Couture so far. The San Jose Sharks will be receiving David Edstrom, Vegas' 2025 first round pick and numerous third round picks in both 2025 and 2027.
