Boston secured a hard-fought victory against the Hurricanes yesterday, despite missing Bergeron, Marchand, and Lindholm, and McAvoy didn't hesitate to tease those them.

Just Giving Them a Hard Time!

With the Bruins having already clinched a playoff spot and the Atlantic Division, it was crucial to give players suffering from persistent injuries some much-needed rest. Nonetheless, defenseman Charlie McAvoy took the opportunity to poke fun at the three players during the postgame media interview.

''We just have to trim the fat, man.''

''No, I don't know. This kind of had the makings of that, I felt, coming in. We didn't have those guys, kind of a no-pressure game, really, because we're not fielding our normal lineup. And to still get a result was great. I thought we really were just playing for each other. It was a lot of fun.''

Patrice Bergeron (37), Brad Marchand (34), and Hampus Lindholm (intense workload this season) all deserved a break with only nine games left in the season.
