It is no question that there is a lot of pressure on young players trying to impress the organization and make the team out of camp, but in reality, you have to earn that spot and captain Brad Marchand had some strong advice for those players.
After a tough practice this morning and after their 2nd preseason game where they bested the Washington Capitals 4-2, Marchand spoke to the media and showed what kind of leader he is.
As a team that is trying to make a push for the Stanley Cup, Marchand is 100% right in what he wants to see out of those young players. Pretty good play and solid performances are not enough, and if they want to have any chance at making the team they need to step and stand out.
There are 5 more preseason games and exactly two weeks until the regular season kicks off on October 10th, so time is winding down for these players to showcase they have what it takes to make the team.
