Although the biggest story line so far this offseason is Jeremy Swayman and his lack of contract progression worth the Bruins, there are some other major things for Bruns fans to be excited for.
A big honorable mention can go to new goalie Joonas Korpisalo, Acquired by the Bruins went that sent Linus Ullmark, he has proven to be a competent goalie in the NHL and on a good team with good defense, he is expected to take the starting role with Swayman sitting out.
Mason Lohrei played 41 games for the Boston Bruins last season, and although he did not put up the best offensive numbers, he impressed the team a lot with his two-way defensive style. He has a fantastic ability to move the puck offensively and definitely passes the eye test.
The biggest "loser" so far has been young goalie prospect Michael DiPietro. He has not done himself any favors, especially as he had a big opportunity in front of him to compete for the Back up job against Brandon Bussi. When he played half the game against the Capitals, he let in a easy goal though his five hole and also gave up a bad rebound that le to another.
