Fans have turned against Jeremy Swayman amidst contract issues

With star goalie Jeremy Swayman still unsigned with the Boston Bruins, it was only a matter of time until Bruins fans started to speak up and become frustrated with his demands, and now, they are expressing their anger and turning their back on him on social media.

With only a few days remaining before the regular season kicks off on October 8th, the B's and Sway still have yet to reach a deal that they both are happy with. What is even worse and more disappointing, the negotiations have gone public and now fans are choosing sides of who they think is at fault.

For their part, this move has shifted public opinion onto the team's side. During the Bruins' most recent pre-season game in Quebec City, there were "Take 64 or go", signs behind the net in regard to frustration with the holdout. If this stalemate continues into the regular season, the optics could get even worse for the 25-year-old up-and-comer Swayman. - Lucente

A big reason for the standstill that has resulted in fans thinking Swayman is greedy and at fault is his "lingering bitterness" towards the organization due to his experience in arbitration. His true feelings were revealed in the new Amazon Series "FACEOFF: Inside the NHL".

"When you go into that room, you don't say a word," he said. "My arbitrator started first, said all of these great things. The arbitrator on their side ... their job is to help the management side and to rip players. Hearing that you're not worthy of what you think you're worthy of, that was hard to hear. You don't forget what was said."

With no end in sight, fans are growing more and more tired of it and feel that Swayman is over valuing himself and as a result, is causing drama and a risk of ruining the relationship between both camps.
