General Manager Don Sweeney addressed the media to discuss plans moving forward, and after a massive roster cut just a few days ago, that left many fans stunned, they have decided to call back up some of those young prospects.
The most notable name to be getting an another shot is 23-year-old forward, Georgii Merkulov. After an extremely impressive AHL campaign last season for Providence, the general consensus was that he was going to make his mark in 2024-2025 with the big club, but things have clearly changed.
Bruins fans were shocked when he was cut after just 3 preseason games, as he did not have enough time showcase his play. But this is what Merkilov himself had to say about getting another shot with the Bruins.
Reports would also indicate that there was, and still is a good chance Merkulov would elect to go back home and play professional hockey in Russia if he were to start the season in the American Hockey League.
What do you think, will Georgia Merkulov finally start paying a team game and showcase to Head Coach Jim Montgomery and General Manager Don Sweeney he has the game to play in the NHL?
