The Boston Bruins took on the New York Rangers last night at Madison Square Garden as they fell to 0-2 against the Rangers in the pre season.
Despite the loss, their was some serious positives that came from the game such as how their first line looked with Matthew Poitras, David Pastrnak and Pavel Zacha.
While this was just an experiment for the Bruins it seemed to have paid off as the line looked to have a ton of chemistry together which means Charlie Coyle might be losing his spot as first line center this year.
More chemistry between 18-51-88. Pastrnak threads a great pass to Poitras circling around the net but
Louis Domingue is there to make the save.
Fans have loved what they have seen so far from this line and are hoping the Bruins begin the season with them playing together rather them splitting them up once Elias Lindholm returns from an injury.
There's somthing with that line I hope they don't split it up the puck possession the cycling in the ozone is amazing Ik that line will lack a bit defensively but the offense they should string together will more than make up for it
Extended clip of this shift. Hope we see this line in the regular season. Love the cut to the inside by Poitras at the 0:29 mark.
This is the type of play that could make Poitras-Pastrnak so dangerous. Poitras protecting the puck along the boards and making a smart and sneaky pass to the waiting Pastrnak.
I expect to see a lot of plays like this from Matt Poitras this season. Good read and good jump to apply pressure as Washington looks to exit their zone.
