Boston Bruins prospect Jonathan Morello has made a career changing decision to de-commit from Clarkson University and go play for Boston University in order to be closer to the the team who drafted him.

18-year-old Morello was drafted 154th overall by the Bruins in the most recent NHL draft and has decided to go play for BU in order for the team to keep a closer eye on his development.

Standing 6'3, Morello played last season in the OJHL for the St. Michael Buzzers where he posted 25 goals and 32 assists for 57 points in just 50 games. He made a major step up during last years playoffs as he averaged 2 points per game, scoring 21 points in 11 games.

As a 5th round pick, the expectations are not as high as it would be for a 1st or 2nd, but from the way he performed in the OJHL playoffs, it seems he is already taking steps forward. Morello is still only 18 years old, his game is still raw, but he is expected to grow into his body and gain size that will only benefit him in the future.

We will be keeping a close eye on him this season with the BU Bulldogs.
