The Bruins began training camp yesterday which has fans excited but this also meant multiple updates from Boston including some bad news.

GM Don Sweeney spoke to the media yesterday and it looks like the Bruins are not much closer to closing a deal with Jeremy Swayman despite rumors that he had officially signed, while Sweeney mentioned he would be signed before December 1st.

Another big contract on everyone's mind entering camp is head coach Jim Montgomery who enters the last year of his deal. While he has been a great coach in Boston leading them to some incredible seasons, the lack of success in the playoffs might come into play on an extension if he cannot get it done once again this year.

There is much to love about head coach Jim Montgomery. He has been a bright spot since being the Bruins coach and helped guide the Bruins to the postseason in each of the past two seasons. However, they have won just one round and the expectation is to go the distance.

Finally the great news coming from camp is that Matthew Poitras is fully recovered and back to being a part of the team. Poitras had a great start to the season before his shoulder injury but it looks like he will be ready to go for the upcoming season.
