As Boston Bruins training camp commenced today, general manager Don Sweeney sent a strong message to his players about his expectations.

His message had to do with the speed and ability of the team during last years Stanley Cup playoffs where it was apparent there was a big difference between them and the eventual Stanley Cup champions the Florida Panthers.

Early on, he (Montgomery) is going to want training camp to be a certain pace,'' said Sweeney. "If bigger guys can't keep up, they're not going to play.''

He stated that if there is one major lesson learned, it is the speed and physicality of all the final four teams left in the postseason. His message to the players was that they need to be better and showcase their skills and speed in camp in order to realistically compete and keep up with the powerhouses in the NHL.
