Sweeney: Amidst rumors, Bruins and Swayman have not made a deal, but believes he will sign by December 1st
Boston Bruins General Manger Don Sweeney took only a few question today about Swayman not joining to the team for camp and stated amidst rumors earlier this morning, a deal has not been struck between them.
Don Sweeney said he would not comment or provide any further information on negotiations but feels confident that he will join the team by December 1st. He did provide information on where Swayman's head is at and has elected to not join team practices or activities.
"Every day that Jeremy is out, it hurts our team and it hurts him, because of the preparation that we'd like to do and he needs to do," said Sweeney, speaking at Bruins training camp Wednesday.
Sweeney was pretty upset that reports were coming out saying they were close to a deal today when camp commenced.
Cleary this is putting a lot of stress on Sweeney and the Bruins that a deal is not going in the direction they want, but Swayman is holding tough and so are they. The Bruins are certain they do not want to go above $8 million and Swayman will not take anything lower, which is causing a lot of speculation on his future with the team.
We will have to wait and see...
