The Boston Bruins put in a dud of a game in their first game back from the All-Star Break, losing 4-1 against the inferior Flames. Head Coach said in the post-game interview that he tried to change things up as the game went on as his team seemed out of sorts from the start.

Our brains didn't work in the first period, so we tried to get our legs moving and our brains follow. - Jim Montgomery

Montgomery would go on to say that after the first period, every play was going to be a dump and chance scenario unless they were on an odd man rush. This shows how disjointed the Bruins were last night. They were outshot, took too many penalties and let an inferior opponent who had just traded away their best player in Elias Lindholm, come into their building and make them look bad.

Call it a post All Star Break hangover, or they overlooked the Flames with the Canucks coming to town Thursday in a battle of the NHL's best, but the Bruins need to flush this game and move on quickly.
