The Bruins acquired Joonas Korpisalo in a trade that sent Linus Ullmark to Ottawa this off-season.

While Korpisalo had a terrible year with the Senators in 2023-24 with a 21-26-4 record, the Bruins are hoping he can return to his form from two years ago.

In 2022-23 with the Blue Jackets, Korpisalo put up great numbers with 18-14-4 record, .914 save percentage and 2.87 GAA.

Furthermore, just back in 2022-23, Korpisalo put together an excellent season. In 39 games split between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Los Angeles Kings, he had an 18-14-4 record, a .914 SV%, and a 2.87 GAA. However, after being traded to the Kings and having a better defense in front of him, he played his best hockey of the season. In 11 regular-season games with LA, he had a 7-3-1 record, a 2.13 GAA, and a .921 SV%.

Hoping that he returns to his old ways is not totally out of reach since last season Korpisalo had an awful defensive lineup ahead of him which is partially why he struggled that much. This season the 9 year veteran will have an incredible lineup in front which will make his job a lot easier.
