There has been additional information released regarding the on going court case involving the 5 hockey Canada players from 2018.
Reporter Rick Westhead announced that all 5 players have been granted permission by the judge to skip pre-trial so that they can work and train elsewhere.
An update was also given on a few players in which Alex Formenton has decided to step away from hockey and has began a job in construction. Carter Hart on the other hand wants to continue to train in Tennessee but has been denied access to the United States due to the court case.
Onetime Ottawa Senators player Alex Formenton and four other former NHL players who are charged in an alleged 2018 sexual assault received permission from a judge to skip pre-trial motions in their case so they can work and train elsewhere.
While several of the players are playing hockey overseas, Formenton is working in construction and wrote in an affidavit: «I have been learning to operate excavators, skid-steer loaders and rollers, Having focused on hockey my entire life, it is challenging to transition to a new line of work.»
Former Flyers goalie Carter Hart's affidavit says he is moving from Alberta to Tennessee to work out full time and said he has hired an immigration lawyer because he has been refused entry to the U.S. after being charged.
Some of these players have also opted to go play overseas such as Dillon Dube who is currently playing in the KHL.
