The Bruins offered Swayman an 8-year deal worth $64 million dollars, which comes out to $8 million average annual value. He and his agent elected to decline that as he feels he is worth a lot more, around $10 million a year, which is utterly insane if you ask Bruins fans. The with regular season just a few days away from kicking off, the Bruins announced that Korpisalo will be handling the starting job on opening night, but there is still no details on who will be backing him up.
Fans are clearly not pleased with Swayman as they feel he is being way to greedy in his demands, especially for a goalie who has never played a full NHL season as a starter. Korpisalo on the other hand is having a wonderful preseason and training camp, in two games, he has 44 saves, a goals against average of 1.91 and a save percentage of .936. It seems like the team is in good hands until, or if Swayman returns.
