The Boston Bruins and all of their fans seem very pleased with how young forward Matt Poitras has been playing in training camp.

Poitras did very well and impressed a lot of people in his rookie season which ended after only 33 games due to a shoulder injury that ended up requiring season ending shoulder surgery.

It looks like Poitras took full advantage of his time off to train and improve his game as he showed up to training camp with almost 15 pounds of muscle that was not there last year and has been dominant since day 1.

Many believed that Poitras would likely move to the wing this season as the Bruins still need a second line winger to replace Jake DeBrusk but it looks like Morgan Geekie might take on that role to start as Poitras will center the third line.

Poitras is an NHLer. He's got the tools and the toolbox as a 20 year old.

I'd put him at Center to start the season and just see how much of an impact he can make in this league.

While some believed that Poitras would start the year in the AHL after not playing in 9 months but with the way he has played so far in the pre season, it looks like he will be staying in the NHL for good.

Matt Poitras strikes short handed off a Joel Farabee giveaway to regain Boston's lead. Can't imagine a single scenario where Matt Poitras isn't on the opening night roster.

Elias Lindholm has also returned to practice which is why the Bruins have decided to put Poitras on the third line.

Elias Lindholm (non contact) is practicing.
