Long time teammate with the Calgary Flames and good friend, Sean Monahan, signed with the Columbus Blue Jackets in the off-season to reunite with Johnny Gaudreau.
The Blue Jackets training camp has begun making it a very difficult start to the year with the tragic passing of the Guadreaus.
Monahan had his first game in Columbus yesterday and spoke to the media after the game about how hard this time has been and how much seeing his equipment around the locker room has brought back good memories.
Columbus has Johnny's jersey on full display in the locker room as seen in the interview showing that he may be gone but will never be forgotten, especially not by his teammates.
Gaudreau wife Meredith commented on the interview showing how close Sean and Johnny were by commenting that Monahan was his favorite guy in the world.
Fans replied as well stating how hard this upcoming season must be for the Blue Jackets and how even people that are not necessarily fans of the team are rooting for them this year.
