It has been pretty quiet over the past couple weeks about who the Boston Bruins will be keeping or cutting from the team, and just a few moments ago, they placed their first player on waivers.

This comes after just an hour ago Jim Montgomery told the media he is not ready to announce any cuts yet, and now they have.

Montgomery not ready to announce any cuts just yet. Still having internal discussions, he said. We could hear later today.

The Bruins announced that they will be placing forward Marc McLaughlin on waivers, and with him being the first, we could hear today the list of the official first round of cuts the Bruins and Montgomery plan on not keeping.

McLaughlin has been with the Bruins organization since the 2021-2022 season after playing 4 season with the Boston College Eagles. He has spent the majority of his 3 season of professional hockey with the Providence Bruins of the AHL. He has appeared in 135 games, scoring 21 goals and 23 assists for 44 points and a combined plus/minus rating of -5.

Over the 3 season with the Bruins, he has gotten the opportunity to play 14 games with the big club, but he has never been able to stick. In those games he has scored 4 goals with no assists and a plus/minus rating of -1.

Do you think the Bruins should have kept McLaughlin?
