Showing his true colors - Jake Guentzel throws shade at the Pittsburgh Penguins
Former Pittsburgh Penguin superstar and current Tampa Bay Lighting winger, Jake Guentzel has not held back how he feels about his former team after being traded to the Carolina Hurricanes, and in a recent interview, it seems those feelings are still very alive for him.
It was clear that the Penguins had a big decision to make last season as the NHL trade deadline was drawing closer, they ultimately decided to trade their star winger in the final hours the Carolina Hurricanes. After multiple 30 goal seasons and staying loyal to the team, since leaving, he has been pretty vocal about his displeasure with the decision and the result is not what he wanted at all.
He realized that no matter what you do, how much you help the team win in hopes of getting them to the next level, the NHL is a business and you can never get too comfortable.
Penguins fans have been on Guentzel's side from the beginning as they felt it was a bad move to send him to the Hurricanes. Now, with Sidney Crosby taking another hometown deal, they are realizing that the money that was left on the table should have gone to him.
Crosby was also int he majority of opinions has he felt the team should have kept him.
Now, Guentzel tested his value in the open amrket and signed a massive deal with the Tampa Bay this offseason. He will be joing the ranks of stars Victor Hedman and Nikita Kucherov as they look to try and secure their 3rd Stanley Cup.
