A recent report has indicated that general manager Don Sweeney and the Boston Bruins have started contract negotiations with head coach Jim Montgomery but they want to keep the details of their talks private.
Jim Montogomery's contract with the Bruins ends at the conclusion of the the 2024-2025 season, and all offseason their has been no reports on the two parties having discussions of a contract extension. GM Don Sweeeney has confirmed today that they have began their negotiations but will be keeping the nitty gritty of their talk between them.
Montgomery has been extremely successful as the main man behind the bench for the B's as in his first season he led the Bruins to a record breaking 65-12-5, and he would go on to win the Jack Adams Award for the NHL best head coach.
In his two seasons with the Boston Bruins, Montgomery has exceeding expectations and has driven taken the Bruins to the next level, he has ahceived an overall record of 112-32-20, and has been a big reason for success of players like Jeremy Swayman, Trent Frederic, and Mason Lohrei, who were given to the opportunity to play a big role and have taken full advantage of it.
