The Boston Bruins are going to have a lot of big decisions to make on who they are going to keep for the regular season, and Matthew Poitras is giving the team no options but to have him on the opening day lineup.

Poitras was a big prospect last season for the B's as he cracked the opening night roster and showcased lots of progression and offensive talent. He played 33 games scoring 5 goals and 10 assists for 15 points and a plus/minus rating of +4. Unfortunrlty, his season was cut short due to an injury and spent the entire offseason rehabbing after having surgery to repair his shoulder.

Now, Poitras has his sets back at making the team to continue where he left off last season. In tonight preseason matchup against the Philadelphia Flyers, he scored his first goal of the preseason on a beautiful 2-1 set up by Trent Frederic.

Bruins take the 2-1 lead on a shorthanded goal.

Poitras gets the goal on the 2 on 1 opportunity.

Farabee with the turnover that led to the odd man rush for Boston. Tough one there as he fanned on the pass attempt back to his teammate.

5️⃣1️⃣ got it done.

Although the offensive numbers are not completely there, he has shown his ability to dictate the game with his high hockey IQ and speed. He will most definitely be playing with the B's when the season kicks off on October 8th against the reigning Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers.

What did you think about his performance in the game against the Flyers?
