The Bruins blue line has become a little thinner over the past week as the team has suffered another injury to their defenders.

Matt Grzelcyk, suffered a lower body injury during the game against the Edmonton Oilers which led to the Bruins 6-5 win in overtime. Grezelcyk Has been listed day-to-day which led the Bruins to recall Ian Mitchell to the team.

Mitchell was drafted in 2017 by the Chicago Blackhawks, second round 57th overall. He was part of the trade sending Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno to the Blackhawks in exchange for Alex Regula and himself.

As many felt he would become a part of the Bruins regular defence and did get some game in earlier this season, but with players like Mason Lohrei, they have leapfrogged over him and pushed him deeper into the Bruins depth chart.

He will be suiting up against the Calgary Flames and has had three goals and 11 assists through 22 games with Providence.
