The Boston Bruins will honor Captain Brad Marchand tonight, for playing in his 1000th career game. The Bruins captain has played his entire career wearing the black and gold and is a proud Bruin. Marchand was originally drafted in 2006 in the third round by the Bruins.
Marchand, while not being the biggest guy on the ice, has never been afraid of throwing his weight around and mixing it up with the best of them on the ice. He still has shown scoring prowess, tallying 48 points in 52 games this season.
Marchand will join an elite group of eight players who have played 1000 games for the Bruins, with the likes of Ray Bourque and Patrice Bergeron. He is among the top of the Boston players in goals, assists and points.
